How to contact Medical personal

Medical tents are located on the east side of the clubhouse parking lot (Main Medical), between the fairways of holes #4 & #5, near the #8 green and behind the #16 green. In an emergency, you may also ask anyone with a portable radio to contact their base station. Important information to pass is the nature of the emergency and your exact location.

Heat Exhaustion versus Heat Stroke

Heat Exhaustion is a warning sign that your body is getting overheated
How can I tell if I have heat exhaustion?
  • Your skin may feel cold and clammy
  • Your body temperature may be elevated (100-104 degrees)
  • Your pulse rate may be faster than normal (greater than 100 beats per minute)
  • You have been drinking fluids and have not had to use the restroom.
Heat Stroke is serious overheating and can be life threatening if not treated
How can I tell if I have heat stroke?
  • You may have increased confusion, combativeness or weakness
  • You may have bizarre behavior, feel faint or walk with a stagger
  • Your skin may be hot and dry (no longer sweating)
  • Your body temperature may be above 104 degrees

What can I do to prevent Heat Exhaustion or Heat Stroke?
  • Stay out of the heat and direct sun as much as possible
  • Drink plenty of fluids as long as they don't have alcohol or caffeine
  • Sponge off with cool rags or water
  • Lie down and rest in a cool place
  • Seek medical attention early

Are there any risk factors that can make this worse?
  • Having poor circulation
  • Having high blood pressure
  • Being unable to perspire
  • Being overweight or underweight
  • Having certain diseases of the heart, lungs or kidneys
  • Consumption of alcoholic or caffeinated beverages

Stay cool, be safe and contact Medical Services with any questions you may have.
