Why we volunteer
Welcome to the John Deere Classic and thank you for your interest in serving as a JDC volunteer. Since the tournament was founded in the Quad Cities in 1971, the purpose has been to provide the area with a major league sporting event that helps raise money for charity.
How do I register
Please do one of the following:
To be fair to everyone, we ask you to volunteer for at least 4 shifts, Wednesday through Sunday. Complete all information on the enclosed registration card:
For 2015 – All volunteer parking will be on Coaltown Road just west of the John Deere Classic Tournament office and the #2 Green at TPC Deere Run. This is a grass lot. The address is 14420 Coaltown Road, East Moline, Illinois. There will be signs posted for Volunteer Parking. Please park in the designated volunteer parking as this is the only FREE parking for volunteers. ACT II Transportation shuttle buses will take you directly to the TPC Club House and pick you up there to return you to the Coaltown Road parking. Golf carts will be available to shuttle you from the clubhouse to your work location. (Marshals with mobility limitations may request assignments near the clubhouse, i.e., 6, 9, 10, 15, or 17.) If you park anywhere else you will be responsible for any parking fees and you will be dropped off at the main gate.
Uniform sales will take place at the Deere & Company Administration Center, John Deere Rd., (just off Rt. 5) Moline; watch for directional signs. Stop at the marshal table to pick up your work schedule and assignments.
Uniform Store hours:
THESE ARE THE ONLY DATES FOR UNIFORM PICKUP. THERE WILL BE NO ALTERNATE DATES!
The volunteers website is www.jdclassic.org/volunteers. We will have your hole assignments listed for the days you signed up to volunteer. You may register online, but you still must come to the Uniform Store to pick up your shirt, hat, assignments and badge.
Important Dates and Times
All volunteers will be able to relax in a hospitality tent overlooking the 18th Tee near the Marshals Tent. Watch for more details on the website and at the Uniform Store.
New Marshal Training
New Marshals are asked to attend a training session at 5pm & 6 PM on either Tuesday or Wednesday June 24 at the uniform pick-up. Please meet at the Marshals table and we will direct you. Seasoned veterans are welcome for a refresher if needed.
