Mission Statement

The mission of the John Deere Classic, a not-for-profit corporation, is to conduct a PGA TOUR sanctioned professional golf tournament that will:

• Contribute positively to the quality of life in our community
• Provide growing annual financial contributions to charity
• Promote volunteerism
• Provide a positive economic impact to the community

As volunteer Chairman for 2008, I just want to THANK YOU for all of your efforts this past week at the Tournament. What most people saw was an unbelievably beautiful golf course, with absolutely stunning spectator venues and being helped by the most hospitable volunteers on the PGA Tour. What we know is that this did not occur without significant planning and time allocation on your part! Every volunteer is appreciated and should be proud of their efforts toward an excellent event.

To all the board members and committee chairs, “Thank You” for your dedication all year to get ready for the one week or so on site! This really did go off without a hitch and it is because of the dedication of our board, committee chairs, staff and volunteers that this happens.

It has been a great deal of fun to be the Chair and I can tell you that the players I talk to still rave about how they are treated better here than anywhere else on Tour. Congratulations to all of you for making 08, Great! Now it is time to make 09 Divine.
